Job Summary
A leading plastics manufacturer seeks a Process Technician responsible for operating between ten and fifteen injection and blow molding machines. The technician is expected to meet or exceed production and quality standards and must demonstrate technical proficiency in processing a variety of materials.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure that injection and blow molding machines, molds, fixtures, and auxiliary equipment are set up properly
• Communicate with managers and coworkers on quality, safety, and productivity issues
• Coordinate with molding labor leadership to ensure full machine and labor utilization
• Recommend improvements for production methods and equipment performance
• Report machine and equipment malfunctions
• Train and guide assigned material handlers
• Stay current on new technology, methods, and materials
• Use in-house programs for BOM and shop orders
• Perform minor maintenance and setup for job changes
• Follow LOTO procedures and pass related test
• Adhere to all safety policies and manufacturing standards
Machinery / Equipment Used
• Injection molding machines
• Blow molding machines
• Auxiliary equipment (grinders, conveyors, chillers, scales, dryers, etc.)
• Hand tools (clippers, utility knives)
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma required; technical training in pneumatics, hydraulics, or plastic processing preferred
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in molding operations
• Understanding of mechanical principles (pressure, heat, vacuum, etc.)
• Ability to read safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Comfortable performing minor maintenance and system data entry
• Must lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk/kneel frequently in a manufacturing environment
• Vision: close, distance, depth perception
• Bilingual a plus
