Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM – Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $22.00 – $28.00 per hour (higher DOE)

Job Summary

Assist Staffing is recruiting on behalf of a leader in precision manufacturing. We are seeking a skilled and driven CNC Machinist to oversee machining operations, mentor team members, and ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on while making a significant impact on team performance and customer satisfaction.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day CNC and manual machining operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety.

  • Create and refine CNC programs (MasterCAM) for lathes and mills from 2D/3D models; optimize for accuracy, repeatability, and speed.

  • Operate CNC and manual horizontal/vertical lathes and mills; mentor machinists in setup, operation, and best practices.

  • Perform and oversee preventive maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.

  • Train machinists in CNC programming, operation, and manual machining techniques.

  • Inspect work, enforce high standards, and collaborate with engineering on process improvements.

  • Promote OSHA compliance, safe work practices, and proper use of PPE, forklifts, and lifting equipment.

 

Machinery/Equipment Used

  • CNC horizontal/vertical lathes and mills

  • Manual horizontal/vertical lathes and mills

  • Forklifts

  • Overhead cranes

 

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years CNC operations (lathe and mill)

  • 3+ years CNC programming with MasterCAM

  • Manual machining experience (horizontal & vertical axis lathes)

  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills

  • Knowledge of various steels (A36, C1018, C1045, 4140) and stainless steels (304, 316)

  • Experience with large workpieces (up to 45" diameter / 2,000 lbs)

  • Forklift and overhead crane operation

  • Process improvement mindset, strong troubleshooting ability, and excellent communication skills
