Job Summary
We’re hiring a dependable and experienced Shipping & Receiving Specialist to join the operations team at a growing specialty food importer and distributor. This full-time role is ideal for someone with strong logistics skills, supervisory experience, and a hands-on approach to daily warehouse functions.
Key Responsibilities
• Accurately receive inbound goods and verify against purchase orders
• Route outbound shipments via LTL and parcel carriers; book freight
• Ensure timely and accurate entries in ERP systems for freight, pallets, packaging, and charges
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, FedEx and PaceJet shipping stations
• Route weekly local deliveries; maintain company delivery van
• Supervise temporary warehouse staff during shipping/receiving processes
• Maintain safety and compliance with OSHA, FDA, FTZ, HACCP, and CBP standards
Machinery / Equipment Used
• Forklift (certification required or within 90 days)
• Manual and electric pallet jacks
• PaceJet and FedEx shipping software
• ERP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
• Company delivery van
Required Qualifications
• 2+ years in shipping and receiving, including 1+ year in a supervisory capacity
• Forklift certification (or willing to obtain within 90 days)
• Experience with ERP systems, inventory software, and logistics platforms
• Strong communication, math, and organizational skills
• Able to lift 50+ lbs, bend, walk, and stand throughout shift
• Must be flexible to work longer hours and Saturdays during peak season (Sept–Nov)
