Job Summary
A well-established packaging equipment manufacturer is hiring a CNC Lathe Operator to join their stable, cross-trained machining department. This is a direct hire role with strong benefits and long-term security. Position is open due to internal promotion.
Key Responsibilities
• Review job travelers and part drawings for assigned jobs
• Program lathe to produce specified parts
• Set up and operate Mazak and Haas Turn Mill CNC lathes
• Perform secondary operations: deburring, grinding, drilling/tapping
• Set up and run Star Clip machine
• Maintain accuracy by inspecting parts, adjusting controls, and documenting quality
• Perform basic preventive maintenance and recommend needed supplies
• Assist with general shop operations as needed
• Participate in company-paid training (e.g., TMA classes)
Machinery / Equipment Used
• CNC lathe (Mazak, Haas Turn Mill)
• Star Clip machine
• Precision measuring tools (calipers, tape rules, pin gauges)
Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma
• 1–2 years of experience with CNC turning equipment
• Ability to read blueprints and job travelers
• Familiarity with measuring tools and quality inspections
• Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs in a non-climate-controlled shop
• Exposure to Mastercam software preferred but not required
