Job Summary
We seek an experienced Tool and Die Maker to join a precision manufacturing facility in Elk Grove Village. This role suits skilled tradespeople with strong milling and grinding experience who enjoy hands-on machining, blueprint reading, and delivering high-quality parts. Candidates will work in a collaborative shop environment with growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
• Set up and operate manual milling and grinding machines for tool and die production.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and setup sheets.
• Perform inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments.
• Troubleshoot and repair tooling to ensure production quality and uptime.
• Collaborate with engineers and shop leadership to improve tooling and processes.
• Maintain safety, 5S, and documentation standards.
Machinery / Equipment Used
• Manual Vertical Mill (Bridgeport, ProtoTRAK)
• Manual Grinder (Okamoto, Harig)
• CNC Mill (3–4 axis VMC – Fanuc, Haas, Makino)
Required Qualifications
• 3+ years of hands-on Tool and Die Maker experience
• Proficiency in milling and grinding with ability to perform setups independently
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong skills in precision measurement and inspection
• Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
